Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 6, 2027, the unofficial end of summer. This page is updated every year. The City of Plantation does not hold a Labor Day event of its own; the holiday weekend’s main draw in recent years has been Plantation Walk on University Drive. Garbage pickup runs as usual, the pool keeps holiday hours and county libraries close.

Labor Day weekend at Plantation Walk
Plantation Walk, 321 N. University Dr., held a Labor Day Weekend 4 Day Celebration from Friday, Aug. 29, to Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, with bands and DJs each day, plus its restaurants and shops. Admission and parking were free; outside food, drinks and coolers were not allowed, and events ran rain or shine, according to its event page. We will add the 2027 lineup when it is posted.

Free things for the long weekend
- Plantation Historical Museum, 511 N. Fig Tree Lane, open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; free admission, with donations appreciated, the Historical Society says. Visit on the Saturday of the holiday weekend.
- Plantation Preserve Linear Trail, 1.1 miles through the golf course wetlands, dawn to dusk. Park at 7050 W. Broward Blvd.
- Plantation farmers market, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Volunteer Park, 12050 W. Sunrise Blvd.
