Mother’s Day brunch

Plantation Preserve Golf Course and Club, 7050 W. Broward Blvd., serves a multi-course buffet each Mother’s Day, with salads and soups, entrees and desserts, and a different menu each holiday, according to the city’s restaurant page. The dining room overlooks the golf course. Call 954-585-5031 for the 2027 menu, times and reservations.

The Broward County Plant Affair

The Broward County Plant Affair is a plant sale run by the Plantation Historical Society at Volunteer Park, 12050 W. Sunrise Blvd., to benefit the Plantation Historical Museum. The society calls it one of the longest-running plant sales in Broward County. The 55th spring sale was May 3-4, 2025, the weekend before Mother’s Day, opening at 9 a.m. A fall sale followed Oct. 25-26, 2025; the city’s listing for it promised free entry and free parking. The 2027 spring dates had not been posted; check the society’s Plant Affair page.

Markets for a gift

• Plantation farmers market, every Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Volunteer Park: produce, local honey, plants and orchids, fresh-cut flowers, breads, cheeses and more, year round, according to the city. Details on our farmers markets page.
• Sunday Morning Artisan Market at Plantation Walk, 321 N. University Dr., every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. since October 2025, with local artisan and craft vendors and live music; free admission and parking (details).

A free afternoon out

• Plantation Historical Museum, 511 N. Fig Tree Lane, open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; admission is free, with donations appreciated, the Historical Society says. It is closed on Sundays, so plan a Saturday visit.
• Plantation Preserve Linear Trail, a 1.1-mile path through the golf course wetlands, open dawn to dusk; park at 7050 W. Broward Blvd. See our trails guide.

What’s open on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is not a city holiday. City parks keep normal Sunday hours, and the Plantation Aquatic Complex is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. There is no garbage pickup on Sundays.
