Two years of small declines

Plantation’s index peaked at $522,921 in June 2024. September’s figure is $30,918 below that, a drop of about 5.9%.

The slide has slowed. The index fell by about $2,900 to $4,300 a month from April to August 2025. In 2026 the monthly moves have been much smaller:

  • June 2026: $493,129
  • July 2026: $492,116
  • August 2026: $491,854
  • September 2026: $492,003

September’s $149 rise is the first monthly gain since March. One month is not a trend.

Values are still well above where they were five years ago. The typical Plantation home was worth $399,082 in September 2021, so today’s figure is about 23% higher.

Zillow revises past months as new sales come in. It now puts the June 2024 peak at $522,921 and August 2026 at $491,854, both lower than its earlier estimates.

How to read these figures

The Zillow Home Value Index estimates the value of a typical home in the middle third of the market, single-family homes and condos together. It is smoothed and seasonally adjusted. It covers all homes, not just those that sold, so it moves slowly. It is not a sale price and not a median.

The rent index works the same way for asking rents on houses and apartments. City figures are Zillow’s rows for each city. Distances are from the center of Plantation.
