Potbelly opens its Plantation Pointe shop Tuesday, Oct. 27, near University Drive and Sunrise Boulevard. First 50 at the Nov. 6 grand opening get a year of free food.

Potbelly opens its first Plantation shop Tuesday at Plantation Pointe, the mixed-use center near University Drive and Sunrise Boulevard.

The sandwich chain announced the Oct. 27 opening in a release from Potbelly Corporation on Monday. It is the brand’s second shop in Southeast Florida. The first opened in April in Davie, about four miles south.

The shop’s address is 1716 N. University Drive. That is the address the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation recorded when it inspected the new restaurant Oct. 2, as listed in our roundup of new food businesses in Plantation.

Grand opening Nov. 6

The company plans a grand opening celebration from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6. The release lists:

  • free Potbelly for a year for the first 50 guests in line
  • a ribbon cutting
  • a Potbelly Perks Plinko game with merchandise, free food and other prizes

Who runs it

The shop is owned and operated by PB Florida Holdings LLC, the company said. Its parent is Stellar Hospitality, whose CEO, Rami Boaziz, is leading the brand’s expansion across Broward County. Plantation is his second shop.

“Plantation Pointe is a great fit for Potbelly, bringing together local families, professionals and businesses in a community we’re looking forward to serving,” District Manager Karen Tapia said in the release.

Potbelly has more than 15 locations in Florida, with more than 50 more under development agreements, the company said.
