Plantation’s public schools are run by Broward County Public Schools, the countywide district, not by the city. Attendance zones do not follow city limits: some Plantation homes are zoned for elementary and middle schools in Sunrise and Fort Lauderdale, and Plantation schools also draw students from neighboring cities. This school year the district combined Plantation Middle and Plantation High into one school, Plantation 6-12.
